Courtney Frerichs, a junior at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, took advantage of the great weather and competition at Stanford's Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, running an 11-second PR on her way to winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:32.12. She defeated Florida State’s Colleen Quigley and Nike Oregon Track Club athlete Aisha Praught—who was fourth in the event at the USATF national championships last June. “I knew I was pretty fit,” Frerichs said after the race. “I wasn't sure just how fit.” Read the full article at: www.runnersworld.com
